Fall Ball is Here!

Fall Ball is a fun way to prepare players, new and old, for the spring season by combining skill training and in-game experience. In particular, this program is designed to help those moving up to the next level, e.g. from Pinto to Mustang.Focus is on development of fundamental baseball skills—appropriate for individual age and skill level—including competitive drills replicating game conditions, with regular scrimmages to allow players to test new skills in real game situations. Pitching instruction will be also provided for older players.

Special Older Player Program: Depending on the individual skill levels of older players, aged 10–14, the focus will be on improving fundamental mechanics, learning more advanced techniques, and developing mental skills. Possible topics and activities include:
Dynamic stretching, muscle activation, band exercises, and arm care,
Speed, agility, and baseball specific strength training,
Mental focus and approach
Fielding technique, situational defense, and pre-pitch preparation,
Leads, steals, and advanced base running strategy,
Advanced hitting instruction including mental approach and situational hitting, and
Bullpen sessions for pitchers.

Coaching Staff: The program will be professionally run by well-known managing coaches Jay Feist and Joe Ruiz, with the assistance of local high school players. In addition, additional local high school coaches  will work with older players to improve their game.

When:  Every Sunday from September 8 to November 10, 9:30am – 3:00pm in four separate sessions determined by age group.

Where:
Gilman Softball Field in the Tom Bates Regional Sports Complex off Gilman Ave. just west of I-80.

Cost:  $100 per child for entire eight-week session. A $25 administration fee will be added for each new player that has not registered for the ECYB Main season or summer program. A $25 fee credit will be applied for each additional player in a family. Financial assistance may be available by email application to [email protected] that includes a brief message to substantiate your need.

Volunteer Support:  Parents are asked to volunteer at least one Sunday per child as part of the registration fulfillment process. You do not have to be a baseball professional to help—just being there helps the professional coaches spend more time with the kids.

We hope to see you out at the ball field!
