Our summer ball program will be back starting on Tuesday, July 9th, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Canyon Trail Park. Coach Joe Ruiz will lead the baseball fitness/skills portion of the program. A great majority of the young athletes participating in our program over the past two years have gained in their skills as a result. This 5 week program, structured to be a fun way to help young baseball players start and continue improving their baseball skills, is designed for all skill level athletes.
Our summer program will focus on fundamental baseball skills taught by our coaches to include actual weekly scrimmages to reinforce this instruction. In addition, there will be a baseball fitness component to help kids perform better by helping them strengthen their speed and agility.
The program will be run by ECYB coach, former college player and baseball fitness consultant, Joe Ruiz. Local high school varsity players will assist him to modify the program to the skills and needs of individual players.
The program will be broken into two parts; the first focusing on baseball and athletic drills (see the attached link describing this type of athletic training at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8kS-IG4mW8&t=1s). The second part will work on fundamental baseball skills directed and taught via actual scrimmages.
When/Where
Sessions will be twice a week each Tuesday and Thursday, July 9th through August 8th, at Canyon Trail Park, 6757 Gatto Ave, El Cerrito, CA 94530
Drills will start promptly at 4:30 pm, so please have your baseball player on time to warm up and be ready to enjoy baseball to it’s fullest. Scrimmaging will start at approximately 5:30 pm on both days.
Tuesdays - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Thursdays - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The program is broken into two basic age levels but can be changed based on skill level and parent request.

Volunteer
